Three teams avenged first-round losses in Friday’s round of matches in the ISSA/Wata DaCosta Cup football competition, including second-round qualifiers Morant Bay High School.

Christiana High beat Knox College 5-0 to join Mile Gully high on 15 points at the top of Zone G.

Knox College, who won their first three games but have been winless in the next four, had beaten Christiana High 2-1 in the first round.

Holmwood Technical won their second game of the season, beating Bellefield High 2-1 to avenge their first-round 2-0 loss as the losers fell to third in the zone.

Second-round qualifiers Morant Bay High dropped points for the first time as they went down 2-1 to Yallahs High, who they had beaten 3-2 in the first round.

Yallahs High is still third in Zone K with six points, Morant Bay leads with 12 points, and Paul Bogle High with nine points.

Port Antonio High moved into second place in Zone N after blanking Fair Prospect High 4-0, with Jerdine Brice scoring a double and Shaquone Hardware scoring one while an own goal had opened the scoring.

The teams finished with ten players after Port Antonio High’s Dwayne Rogers and Fair Prospect High’s Kerone George were expelled for violent conduct in time added at the end of the second half.

After failing to make it to the playoffs in Zone C, York Castle took out their frustrations on whipping boys Discovery Bay High with an 11-2 victory.
