Mona High won their first Mannings Cup title in their first final after edging Hydel High 1-0 in the 2023 final played at the National Stadium on Friday.
A goal in the 10th minute from Demarion Harris was all that was needed to give the Craig Butler coached team their first title at this level as Hydel High failed in their second trip to the final.
Mona High became the 15th school to win the Corporate Area senior title as Hydel failed to score in two Manning Cup final.
The game failed to live up to the standards expected but was a closely contested game between two teams that threw everything in attack as they went out for the win.
The lone goal in the game came in the 10th minute when Kshaine Gordon picked up a long ball on the right side of the area and crossed into the Hydel penalty area where Harris swept it in past goalkeeper Tajarie Lee.
