Back-to-back semi-finalists Mannings School, last season’s semi-finalists Edwin Allen High and former champions Rusea’s High were all upset in Saturday’s first leg games of the second round of the ISSA/Wata DaCosta Cup football competition.

Mannings School, the fourth ranked team were beaten 1-0 by Port Antonio High who are ranked number 29th of the 32 qualifiers in their game at Carder Park thanks to an 80th minute goal from Twayne Lopez.

Christiana High who qualified for the second round on Tuesday and were ranked 23rd surprised 10th ranked Rusea’s High 3-0 in the second game of a double header at Brooks Park while McGrath High edged last season’s semi-finalists Edwin Allen High 1-0 who were ranked at number 14, five spots above them.

There was a big 7-0 win for Garvey Maceo High over St Mary High as Cleo Clarke scored a hat trick while Christopher Mundle, Delano Thompson, Jelani Williams and Everald Swaby also scored.

Cornwall College rallied from a fifth minute goal to beat Black River High 3-1, Frome Technical got by Vere Technical 4-1 in their game played at Foga Road High while there were draws between William Knibb Memorial and Central High and Belair High and Mile Gully High.
