Three teams, former champions St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) and Glenmuir High as well as BB Coke took steps towards qualifying for the quarterfinals of the ISSA/Wata DaCosta Cup football competition after winning their first leg second round games on Friday.

STETHS handed Irwin High their first loss of the season when they scored a 1-0n, Glenmuir High were 3-0 winners over Morant Bay High while BB Coke High beat Paul Bogle High 2-0.

Donte Campbell’s late penalty gave STETHS a slim one goal lead into Tuesday’s return leg to be played in Santa Cruz.

The game appeared headed for a draw when Antwone Smith was fouled just inside the Irwin penalty area and Campbell made no mistake form the penalty spot in the 85th minute.
Orane Watson scored a double to lead Glenmuir High to their easy win while Deandre Johnson scored the other goal.
