Eleven of the 32 slots in the second round of the ISSA DaCosta Cup football competition have now been taken after three more schools, St Elizabeth Technical High (STETHS), Dinthill Technical, and Cedric Titus High penciled in their names on Monday.

They join the other eight schools that had previously booked their spots- Cornwall College, Irwin High, Frome Technical, Rusea’s High, Morant  Bay, Paul Bogle, Garvey Maceo High, and Happy Grove High.

STETHS, who were 1-1 with Lacovia High 1-0 on Saturday before their game was washed out, won 4-2 and moved to 22 points in Zone E; Cedric Titus High made a statement with their 2-0 win over William Knibb Memorial, also improved to 22 points in Zone C and Dinthill edged Charlemont High 1-0 in their rescheduled Zone J game.

Donate Campbell, Ajay Smith, DeAndre Hibbert and Justin McPherson scored for STETHS as they won their sixth game from seven starts.

Cedric Titus had a point to prove after they had benefited from a ruling by the organizers that saw them being awarded points after they had lost to William Knibb in the first round.

Playing at home, Kamari Gordon and Terron Eccleston scored second-half goals for Cedric Titus as they resumed the game that was stopped late in the first half on Saturday due to heavy rains.

Their 22 points ensures they will finish in the top three, with three teams from the zone getting into the second round.
