William Knibb Memorial High School completed their come back and Christiana High completed the qualifiers for the second round of the ISSA/Wata DaCosta Cup football competition on Tuesday with wins over Browns Town High and Alphansus Davis High respectively.

William Knibb who played with 10 men from the 13th minute, came from a goal down to beat Browns Town 5-1, avenging their first round loss and taking third place in Zone C.

Christiana High won their game 2-0 to secure second place in Zone G with 18 points, just one ahead of Knox College who finished with 17 points after been awarded full points against Bellefield High.

They joined the other schools that had already secured their spots- Cornwall College, Irwin High, Rusea’s High, Frome Technical, Cedric Titus High, Ocho Rios, Mannings School, Black River, St Elizabeth Technical, BB Coke, Manchester High, Belair High, Mile Gully High, Clarendon College, Edwin Allen, Tacky High, St Mary High, Dinthill Technical, McGrath High, Paul Bogle High, Morant Bay High, Glenmuir High, Central High, Garvey Maceo High, Vere Technical, Happy Grove High and Port Antonio High.

The best third placed teams are deCarteret College from Pool 1 and Munro College and Horace Clarke High from Pool 2.

Koran Henriques led the William Knibb come back as he scored a hat trick to take his tally of goals to 10 on the season; drawing them level in the 14th minute then sending them ahead in the 43rd minute to lead 2-1 at half time.

Henriques completed his hat trick in the second half while Amari-Christopher Reid and Theonjae Bennett also got on the score sheet as William Knibb improved to 18 points and finished behind Cedric Titus- 25 points and Ocho Rios High-20 points.

Malique Hewitt scored a hat-trick for Ocho Rios in their 4-1 win over Cedric Titus at Drax Hall in another Zone C game between two team that had qualified earlier.
Christiana High’s win was their second over Alphasud Davis this season as they also amassed 18 points and were second behind Mile Gully High who edged Holmwood Technical 2-1 in another game.
