Twelve spots in the second of the ISSA DaCosta Cup football competition have been filled after four more schools including former champions Frome Technical and Rusea’s High and Ben Francis KO holders Edwin Allen High booked their spots on Monday.

Rusea’s High eliminated Green Island High from contention for an automatic spot from Zone B after beating them 2-0 in their rescheduled game at the Colin Miller Sports Complex in Lucea.

The win saw Rusea’s High join Frome Technical on 18 points as both schools advanced.

Edwin Allen beat Kellits High 4-1 in their Zone H game and improved to 14 points and will accompany Clarendon College as the automatic qualifiers.

Paul Bogle High snapped two games losing skid and confirmed their place in the next from Zone L which they lead with 21 points, five more than Yallahs High who edged St Thomas Technical 2-1 and moved into second place with 17 points with one game to go in Zone L while Seaforth High are on 15 points with two games to play.

Zone C qualifiers William Knibb Memorial and Cedric Titus played out a 0-0 draw in their Zone C top-of-the-zone clash in Clarks Town, both losing their perfect win records.

Manchester High reclaimed the lead in Zone F with a big 8-nil thrashing of May Day High as previous leaders Belair High was upset 1-0 by DeCarteret College who passed them for second place on goal difference, both on 18 points.
