It took them just twelve minutes to break the deadlock from a goalkeeping error by Tuishane Edwards, who spilt a routine cross that was converted by Raheem Edwards. It was the first half of two halves as Charlie Smith took control late in half seeking the equaliser as Trivante Stewart hit the upright. Eltham held their 1-0 advantage at the interval.

The second half began with Charlie Smith High pressing for the equaliser but resilient defending from the man of the match Richard Brown and company saw off waves of attack by their opponents. Substitute Romeo Slue hit the crossbar from a beautifully floated cross by Ronaldo Cephas of Charlie Smith. It was by this time the entire Eltham High had figured it’s their lucky day, and it was music to their ears as referee Odette Hamilton sounded the final whistle confirming their first win of the season. Sending them into the third position unto four points in Group C.
