Christiana High is the 20th school to qualify for the second round of the ISSA/Wata daCosta Cup football competition after completing the last five minutes of their interrupted Zone G first round game against Holmwood Technical on Wednesday.

Christiana High had led 1-0 when the game was blown off due to a field invasion and fighting on September 19th and held on for their second win over Holmwood Technical in four days after winning the return round game 2-1 on Saturday.

The win took Christiana High to an unbeatable 19 points to top Zone G as they made progress from the first round for the first time since 2014.

Also yesterday Alston High edged Knox College 1-0 in their rescheduled first round game, their second 1-0 win over Knox in a week after beating them by the same margin in their second-round game played Saturday.

Alston High and Spalding are now tied on 15 points in second place with Holmwood Technical and Knox College on 14, all with a game to go.
