Zone F of the ISSA daCosta Cup football competition has been thrown wide open after Wednesday’s round of return run games with three schools, still in contention for the two automatic qualifying places for the second round.

Manchester High beat May Day High 7-0, days after blanking them 8-0 and improved by 22 points while Belair High and DeCarteret College drew 0-0 to both be on 19 points, all with one game to go.

Manchester High will face DeCarteret College, needing only a point while Belair High will play Mt St Joseph Catholic High.

Former champions Frome Technical and Clarendon College both extended their perfect records to seven straight wins as they beat Green Island High and Thompson Town respectively.

Javel Clarke scored all three goals for Frome Technical in their 3-1 win that took them to 21 points while Clarendon College won their game 8-0.

At Martha Brae in Trelawny, two days after they played out a 0-0 draw that ended both teams’ perfect start, William Knibb Memorial hammered Trelawny neighbours Cedric Titus High to take over sole leadership of Zone C.

Jahiem Sankar scored the first-half hattrick to lead William Knibb to their sixth win moving to 19 points, three more than Cedric Titus who had only conceded three goals in their previous six games.

Amari Christopher Reid gave William Knibb the lead after just 10 minutes before Sankar took over the show and scored his hat trick in 21 minutes, in the 16th 20th and 37th minutes.

Orville Brown made it 5-0 in the 40th minute while Jayar Skyers added the sixth goal in the 73rd minute.
