Former champions Frome Technical and Charlemont High overturned first-leg losses to book spots in the quarterfinals of the ISSA/Wata daCosta Cup football competition on Saturday.

Both had lost 2-1 in Wednesday’s first leg games but bounced back with wins on Saturday.

Alwin Hill who had scored for Frome Technical in their loss to Christiana High at Manchester High on Wednesday, scored both goals for his team on Saturday as they ran out 2-0 winners at Frome and 3-2 overall to return to the quarterfinals.

Derron Wildman scored twice, and Clive Wedderburn got the other for Charlemont as they beat Browns Town High 3-0 at Dinthill and made progress to their first-ever quarterfinals 4-2.

It was the second straight season that Browns Town was unable to hold on to a first-leg win after beating Rusea’s High last year then lost on penalties at home.
