Former champions St James High opened their account in the Flow/ISSA daCosta Cup schoolboys’ football competition with a 4-1 win over Irwin High in a Zone A game played at Jarrett Park on Tuesday.

The win took St James High level with Cornwall College on three points each as four different players scored to hand Irwin their second straight loss after they went down 8-1 to Cornwall College on Saturday.

Ackeem Campbell, O’Shain Powell, substitute Roderick Haughton and Ronaldo McLeish all found the net for St James High. Sachin Wilmott got Irwin’s consolation late in the game.

At Drax Hall, Marcus Garvey Technical made it two wins in a row when they blanked Browns Town High 2-0 in their Zone I game to take over sole leadership.

Daniel Green and Allain Black were the scorers for the Marcus Garvey team who had beaten Ocho Rios High 1-0 on Saturday in their opening game.
