Lennon High of Mocho, Clarendon upstaged Cornwall College 1-0 today to book a spot in Friday’s final of the ISSA/Flow Ben Francis Knock Out final for the first time, winning the semi-final game played at St Elizabeth Technical High (STETHS) Sports Complex in Santa Cruz.
Fitzroy Cummings’ second half penalty conversion was the difference between the teams as Lennon will take on six time defending champions St Elizabeth Technical in the first rural area finals this season at Manchester High.
This is Lennon High’s second final at this level after making it to the daCosta Cup finals in 2010 when they lost 1-0 to Rusea’s High at Jarrett Park in Montego Bay.
It was the sixth straight game the dark horse team was scoring a single goal and they have won the last four while Cornwall College who were unbeaten in their first 19 games have failed to score in their last two after they were also beaten 1-0 by Wolmers Boys in the Flow Super Cup final on Saturday.
