The ISSA Digicel Schoolboy Football Manning Cup 2023 campaign kicked off in fine style for defending champions Jamaica College.
Jamaica College strolled to a 2-0 against Tivoli Garden High at the National Stadium. Thierry Garrick opened the scoring for JC after a composed turn inside the penalty area then hammering past goalkeeper Shakur Aidar of Tivoli Garden High. The first half ended with the “true Blues” leading by 1-0.
The second half saw Tivoli Garden High push on early in the half as they tried to get back on level terms but their attempts were futile. JC then became more dominant in possession as they started to turn the screws and were rewarded ten minutes before full-time. Javaun Mills headed home from close range in the 80th minute to double the lead of the defending champions and ensure they began the season on a winning note.
