Former champions Glenmuir High won their first quarter-final game since the 2014 season after beating Manchester High 2-0 at Glenmuir High as the ISSA/Wata DaCosta Cup competition continued on Wednesday.

Glenmuir High was one of four former holders to win their opening games in the quarter-finals as defending champions Clarendon College, Garvey Maceo High and Dinthill Technical were all winners.

Glenmuir High had earned one point in their last nine quarter-final games but came up big on Wednesday as they set their eyes on a spot in the semi-finals.

Ja-son Whyte opened the scoring for Glenmuir High with a brilliant free kick in the 51st minute, his first goal of the season while Orane Watson made it 2-0 four minutes later with his sixth goal of the season.

Kaheim Dixon scored the first two goals of the game as Clarendon College beat Christiana High 4-0 at Manchester High while Christopher Hull and Tedane Williams also scored to lead Group A on goal-difference over Glenmuir High.

Jelani Williams also scored a brace as Garvey Maceo rolled over BB Coke High 4-0 at STETHS.

Cleo Clarke and Conroy Williams also scored for Garvey Maceo High who ended BB Coke’s five games winning run.
