There are only two teams in the ISSA daCosta Cup football competition, Garvey Maceo and William Knibb after Frome Technical were unceremoniously dumped form the ranks of the undefeated when they were upset 1-0 by Rusea’s High in their Zone B game played at Wespow Park on Friday.

A well taken first half goal from Shavel Salmon made the difference in the game that was watched by a fair sized crowd that ignored the government’s orders that no fans should attend the games.

Frome had a number of scoring chances in the second half but failed to make use of them and could only watch as Mannings School took over the lead after beating Petersfield High 2-0 at Llandilo in Westmoreland.

Rushawn Graham and Abena Wallace scored for Mannings who rebounded from their draw against Rusea’s the previous week and improved to 10 points, followed by Frome on 9 and Petersfield on 7. Meanwhile Godfrey Stewart beat Green Island High 3-0 in the other game played at Llandilo.
