College

Darren Mattocks is a former Bridgeport High Manning Cup football star who currently plays for Major League Soccer (MLS) outfit Vancouver Whitecaps FC in the US.  Mattocks played for the University of Akron where he made 47 appearances and scored 39 goals over two years. He was nominated for several awards during his tenure. He also was nominated to the first-year All-American teams by several different media outlets as he’s blessed with pace, youthful exuberance and a clinical finish.

Grassroots Level

He started his football career playing at the under-15 level for Passagefort, where he scored two goals in seven games. He also played Super League for Naggo Head at age 16, and he came off the bench to find the back of the net twice. He was signed to Waterhouse FC and in the 2007-08 season he scored 14 goals in 18 games in the JFF Under-21 league.

High School

Darren Mattocks was arguably one of the best players in his time has he was a top striker who once score 5 goals in a game.  He ended his schoolboy football career as his school lead ‘marksman’ when they were defeated in the finals by many time champion St. Georges College. Mattocks also achieved in academics as he has been successful in his CSEC & CAPE exams.

International

Mattocks made his international debut for Jamaica, coming on in the 55th minute in a 2-0 win over El Salvador.
