Ruseas vs Green Island action on opening day

Winston Jones High created school history on Saturday, beating Cross Keys High 3-0 for their first ever win in daCosta Cup football.

Brendan Williams and Kimar Brown as well as a Cross Keys defender wrote their names in history as they were part of history.

Winston Jones first took part in the competition in 2001 and 2002 but took a break until 2015 and 2016 and missed last year but returned with a bang.

They are tied for the lead in the zine with two former champions, Garvey Maceo High who beat Denbigh High 3-0 and Glenmuir High who edged Bellefield High 1-0.

There were also good starts for Guys Hill High and Charlemont who both got one win each last year, winning their opening games on Saturday- Guys Hill beat Tacky High 2-0 in Zone J while Charlemont were 4-0 winners over Tacius Golding in Zone K.
