Jaheim Harris scored two second-half goals to lead Edwin Allen High to a 3-2 win over St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) at the St Elizabeth Technical Sports Complex and lift their first-ever major football title on Friday.

Edwin Allen better known for their prowess in female track and field came back from an early goal down but took charge in the second half to score an exciting win over the six-time champions.

Edwin Allen was the 15th team to lift the title and the sixth different team in the last six years.

STETHS started the better team and grabbed the lead in the sixth minute when Negus Daley beat goalkeeper Kimani Matthews at the near post, finding the far corner.

They held the lead until the 47th minute when Alwayne Bryan latched on to a rebound from his first shot to power it back past the STETHS goalkeeper.

Harris got his first in the 63 rd minute to restore Edwin Allen’s lead but second-half substitute David Wright pulled STETHS level with a header from close range in the 84th minute.

Edwin Allen High would not be denied however and Harris had the last word, waltzing through the STETHS defence before letting fly with a powerful left-footer in the 89th minute that left the goalkeeper stranded at this near right post.
