Once again I take great pride in congratulating ISSA for the plans being put in place for another staging of the ISSA/FLOW Schoolboy Competition.

From all reports the very best of previous seasons and some new elements will be on show for the upcoming season.
Last year we saw the introduction of the Lime Super Cup. This innovation brought added excitement to the competition, while also providing more playing time for the youngsters and greater opportunity for our national scouts to see players in an extended competitive environment.

We also note that ISSA is looking into the staging of evening games. I commend the vision. This augurs well for the galvanizing of interest and support for the competition.

The JFF and ISSA have worked closely together over the past six years toward improving the quality of coaching at the school level. As per Regulations all coaches at the Manning and Dacosta Cup levels must be Advance Level 11 qualified. Additionally, the coaching licencing system is also being implemented.

Soon the JFF will be staging refresher courses which will zero in on areas assessed by its Curriculum Committee as important. We laud the ISSA leadership for sharing the vision of the JFF and for working closely with us.

I commend the sponsors of the competition and wholeheartedly thank them for supporting the development of the sport. Every dollar that you commit is highly appreciated and is never taken for granted.

I urge coaches, administrators and players to make the upcoming 2015 ISSA /FLOW Schoolboy Competition the best ever.
